At around 12:20 pm on July 14, 2024, a hazardous goods transport vehicle collided with a sedan on the K197 Qingdao direction of the G20 Qingyin Expressway, causing the hazardous chemicals transport vehicle to catch fire and leak liquid.
After the accident, the high-speed company immediately activated the Level 3 hazardous chemical accident contingency plan according to the "one route, three parties" workflow. On site, the explosion hazard was eliminated by opening the safety valve, diluting and suppressing the fire with water, flipping the tank to remove the diluted liquid, and other professional disposal measures. After more than 6 hours of intense fighting, the fire was completely controlled, the methanol leak was effectively dealt with, and the accident site was thoroughly cleaned up. Due to appropriate disposal measures, there were no casualties in this accident, and the scene quickly resumed traffic.
